Fashion Wanderer will be
mainly based online with a tri-monthly magazine. This means that technology is at the heart of the company. This may be an issue as there are so many online platforms for fashion – its main competitors are The Business of Fashion, British Fashion Council and Young British Designers. Having so many other competitors who are also online platforms raises the issue of having the same content and being too similar. As well as this, these others online platforms may have built a strong customer base that don’t want to transfer and try a new platform as they trust those that are out their already.
Changes in legislation such as an increase in the National minimum wage would affect employees of Fashion wanderer positively, and could motivate them to work more efficiently (increased productivity). However, Fashion Wanderer would be spending more money on wages, which would increase their cost of production where the extra wage costs would have been available previously for the creation of new attributes on the website and magazine.
As Fashion Wanderer would also be selling items on their website, we would need to get legal permission to do so and know customer
rights act etc.
For the collaboration of Fashion wanderer and the new designers if their garments or products are being sourced from the other countries, it would mean that the materials may be shipped by air freight then by sea or air freight to the U.K. This would result in high levels of pollution during the shipping period therefore impacting the environment.
As well as this, the production of the magazine may also results in pollution too. Mass production from factories
would add to the amount
of pollution the company would contribute to the atmosphere.
