Q: Tell us how you two ( Becky and Ellie ) came to work together. For example, it hard to mix business with family relationship ?
A: Idle Child was created by Becky Larson the seamstress and patternmaker, then joined forces with photographer sister Ellie Niemeyer to inspire the creative direction of the brand. Becky focuses on the design and construction of the pieces and Ellie is the stylist, photographer and model. Together we collaborate on design and direction of the collection. It has been pretty smooth working together, we have the same vision and work really hard at getting that across.
A: Right now we are working on selling in a boutique and working on custom garments. In five years the goal is to be global! Why not!? With the internet we can expand our reach and influence and we fully intend in using that!
Q: We loved your spring 2014 collection as it was featured at the "Shows". What was the inspiration behind it?
A: Our spring 2014 collection was called Genesis and was inspired by nature and the colors of the forest. The way the light shines through the trees and the reflection on the water is so inspiring when creating art with fabric!
