FO: Who is Blake Von D ?.

BVD: Hi! My name is Blake. I've been blogging for a little over 6 years. I just transitioned to full-‐time blogging after graduating from law school this past May. I grew up in Georgia, but since graduating from college I've lived in both New York City and New Orleans. But I just recently relocated to Chicago and I'm loving it so far!

FO: What inspired you to start your blog?

BVD: This is always a tough question for me. I guess I could say I was inspired by "life" and the growing pains that accompany it. I started blogging during my senior year of college just as a way to kind of talk about all the first time decisions I was facing as an adult and just kind of get feedback from...I'm not exactly sure who. (No one was reading my blog way back then. Or so I thought.) But turns out people were reading! The more I posted, the more I shared about my life, myself, my style, the more I found there was a community of women out there that I connected with. The rest is history.

Not only is Blake Von D. a social media fashion maven, but also a law school graduate, Blake Von D. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia; Blake tells us how she turned a hobby into a substantial career—blogging about her outfits and sharing style tips with the fashion community.

FO: What's your suggestion's on inspiring readers/viewers.

BVD: JUST DO IT! I get emails all the time from aspiring blogging wanting to know how to start a blog. I always tell them all the same thing-‐-‐just do it! The hardest part of being a new blogger is actually getting started. Getting past all the doubt, comparing yourself to others and the fear of failure. You just have to push all those thoughts to the back on your mind and go for it!

FO: 5 year's from now where do you see your brand ?

BVD: My longterm vision is to become a major influencer in the area of branding, with the ultimate goal of starting my own brand management firm; thus, allowing me to marry my legal training and my love of branding and social media. My goal is to continue being the type of blogger and woman who is #SettingtheBar for others aspiring to conquer their own dreams.
