And Then African Fashion Fete Was Born....

I often look at myself and wonder what has made me different from others and I have come to understand that being different is cool. Not following the trend and creating my own thing has never failed me. Fashion has been something I grew to be passionate about. Presently pursuing my Bachelors degree in Nursing and Associate degree in Information technology leaves me a little time, to spare, but not when it comes to modelling and fashion.

I was asked about 2 months ago by Glenda Samuel about some idea for spring style wears; and that is how the idea of planning a fashion show came about, it was scheduled to happen by December 2015, but with African Liberation Day coming up she recommended that we could do something for the program. I came up with the name Fashion Fete, and with Nelly Stahrre coming on board, she added "Africa" and right there "Africa Fashion Fete" was born.

It was weeks of hard work, with me jogging through studies and exams and cordinating the program for the show. With corporate hard work from the designers and intense practice from the models; Finally , fashion Fete stage the a red carpet runway on 22nd of May 2015 at the Harlem Plaza with 6 designers showcasing more than 40 beautiful outfits made with African print and styles and was modeled by 32 models of different ages, sizes and shapes; followed by music performances and dance.

African Fashion Fete on same night earned its title as the biggest fashion event ever happened in Dominica with so many designers in one place at the same time.
