An expansion in the range of designer fragrances has helped Superdrug achieve 62% rise in its annual operating profit for 2015. According to files lodged at Companies House this week, for the 52 weeks ending December 26, 2015, Superdrug's profits rose from £38.3 million in 2014 to 62.2 million in 2015. Sales also grew 5.4% and like-for-like stores sales rose 6.6%. In a statement circulated today, Superdrug said make-up and beauty sales experienced an 11% increase alone, driven by the introduction of designer fragrances such as Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci. The A.S. Watson Group-owned company also said it benefited from several in-store services, such as eyebrow shaping, travel vaccinations, weight management services and nail treatments.
