A. The difference between a job and a career is that a job is for the most part just
something that is temporary to have money. A career however is something you
are going to be doing for the rest of your life and it’s something you go to school
for. It is very important decision what your career will be because you are going
to be stuck with it for a long time and you should want to be happy with your
career you should enjoy it.
B. Factors that can influence a career choice in the intrinsic motivation could be
exploration and curiosity meaning leaning toward a career choice simply because
you want to know what it’s going to be like. Extrinsic motivation is what you
want to do based on your actions and goals.
C. What do you believe to be your passion?
I believe my passion is to become a basketball coach. I love the game and I
love teaching kids and teens the game and I like to see them improve. I would
love to follow my grandpa’s footsteps.
What would you do if you knew that you would most likely be compensated
moderately?
I would still want to be a basketball coach because regardless of the money I
just love teaching kids to play the game and even if they didn’t pay me this is
still something I would want to do.
What type of work would you absolutely refuse to do under any
circumstances?
I feel like the type of work I wouldn’t ever do would be a construction worker.
There is a lot of physical labor and in the summer your outside in the hot
weather lifting things and its something I wouldn’t want to do.
D. Three suggested careers that I got were Sports Management, Business owner, and
Social worker. Three career choices from the other website that I got were Sales
manager, athletic trainer, and CEO. I do agree with these choices because I think
they all would fit me well. They all do interest me especially the CEO and sports
management. For the personality type for the most part I do think it is accurate.
The one part I didn’t was that it said I have a preference of putting feeling over
thinking and I don’t think that is right.
