The2018eventfeaturesafirstfloordedicatedto‘sharingknowledge’.Thiswillincludetabletopdisplayspromotingindustryinitiatives,trainingprovidersandcharities,seminarssponsoredbyXLVetswithpresentationsontopicalsubjects,andacareersboarddisplayingthecurrentopportunitieswithinthedairyindustry.
NewProductZone:thiselementoftheshow,sponsoredbyIDEXX,isopentoexhibitorswhohavelaunchedanewproductintothemarketoverthelast12monthsafter13thSeptember2017.Entrieswillbereviewedbyanindustrypanelpriortotheeventwith10shortlistedentriesselectedtodisplaytheirinnovationsatUKDairyDaywiththewinningentrybeingselectedon-siteattheevent.Inadditiontothiscompetition,therewillbeawardsforTradeStands,BestPresentedLines,TidyLines,HolsteinUKPremierExhibitorAwardandtheHolsteinUKPremierBreederAward.
InnovationZone:NEWtothe2018event,thisarea,locatedintheNewportSuite,willbesponsoredbyHarperAdamsUniversityandwillfeaturearangeofinnovatingbusinesseswhowillshareinformationonnewconceptsandtechniquestobenefitBritishdairying.
CalfRearingZone:producingproductivereplacementsisessentialforeverydairybusiness,sogettingmanagementrightiskey.Byvisitingthisexternalarea,sponsoredbyVolac,farmerscangainpracticaladviceandtipsonsuccessfulcalfrearingwithbirthing,growth,health,hygiene,feedingandhusbandryallbeingaddressed.
NBDCBreedVillage:adedicatedareawherebreedsocietiescanpromotetheirbreedsandmembership.LocatedadjacenttoHall3,wherethecattlestallsarepositioned,therewillbedisplaysandrepresentativesfromGuernseyCattleSociety,Jersey,ShorthornSocietyandtheAyrshireSociety.
PracticalDemonstrations:don’tmissthearrayofdemonstrationsthroughoutthedaytodevelopyourlearning.TheCalfRearingZonewillofferadviceonallaspectsofcalfrearing.ItwillbecoveredbyacalfhousesponsoredandsuppliedbyNorthernPolytunnelsLtdandallpracticalelementswithintheCalfRearingZonewillbeDairyPropointed.ScarsdaleVetsreturnforthepopularbeneaththe'BlackandWhiteCalf'anatomypaintingdemonstrationandNBDCwillleadTypeClassificationandlinearscoringdemonstrations.Likepreviousyears,TimCarterandhisteamwilldemonstratefoottrimmingandknifesharpeningdemonstrations,includingnewblockwork.What’sNewfor2018…
