Find your slice of tropical paradise .
What better way to round off your Borneo adventure than with time to kick back and relax on a gorgeous beach . Most of Borneo ’ s swathes of sand are clustered around Sabah and include the beaches of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park , Tanjung Aru Beach and Pantai Dalit Beach . Tunku Abdul Rahman is made up of five islands , including Gaya , where the enticements include idyllic beaches , magnificent dive and snorkelling sites amongst sprawling coral reefs that teem with vibrant marine life , along with the chance to kayak or enjoy some light jungle trekking . Tanjung Aru Beach takes its name from the casuarina or aru trees that fringe the fine sands and is renowned for its amazing sunsets , while exquisite Pantai Dalit offers private expanses of soft white sand stretching almost as far as the eye can see . On Sarawak , Telok Bandung faces the South China Sea and has a stunning backdrop of majestic Mount Santubong as well as dense tropical rainforest .
Getting there : For most resorts , there ’ s a private road transfer from Kota Kinabalu or Kuching . Gaya Island also involves a speedboat transfer ( shared ).
Best time to go : With an equatorial climate , Borneo enjoys sunshine all year round although rainfall can occur at any time . March to October are considered the best months to travel .
