DAY 1 Singapore
Afternoon departure from Singapore . Settle into your cabin as the train rolls through the southern Malaysian countryside and perhaps make your way to the teakwood Observation Car for spectacular views . Later , dinner is served in one of the luxurious dining cars and afterwards you may like to head to the Bar Car to relax with fellow travellers .
DAY 2 Malaysia
After breakfast arrive at Kuala Kangsar , where you travel by coach to Labu Kabong , a village set among paddy fields and backed by lush mountains . Here , embark on a traditional village experience and immerse yourself in rural Malaysian life . Alternatively , embark on an invigorating hill trek with a local naturalist for which your reward is panoramic views . Rejoin the train as it continues towards Thailand and enjoy another glamorous dinner on board .
DAY 3 River Kwai & Bangkok
This morning , alight at Kanchanaburi for your chosen River Kwai excursion . Options include a Classic Tour with guided visits to the Bridge over the River Kwai and Thai- Burma Railway Museum ; Tracks to an Unseen Thailand Tour will have you biking through verdant rice paddies and stopping at a local farm ; or the Local Flavours Tour , which explores a rice noodle house and combines a raft cruise with a cooking class .
Return to the train for lunch and time at leisure before the train reaches Bangkok late afternoon . After disembarking you will be transferred by road to your hotel .

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Fully air-conditioned and lavishly refurbished with wooden marquetry panelling and French furnishings , the train is , in total , a quarter mile in length . There are 10 sleeping cars , two restaurant cars , bar car , saloon car and an observation / bar car at the end of the train .
Pullman cabins have picture windows , day seating converting to upper and lower berths , a wardrobe , in-room safe , drop-leaf table , en suite shower , and the personal service of a cabin steward who is available around the clock . State and Presidential cabins are larger and feature lower berths ( no double beds ).
