DAY 1 Bangkok / Chiang Mai
Morning departure from Bangkok for a one hour flight north to Chiang Mai , famous for its friendly people , refined handicrafts , cool climate and striking mountain scenery . On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel . This afternoon take an “ Inherited Craftsmanship ” tour to witness the process of making and weaving silk and cotton . Proceed to Bor Sarng , the umbrella village where delicate Thai paper umbrellas are produced and hand painted . Finally , admire the intricacies of locally made lacquerware , silverware and teakwood furniture .
DAY 2 Chiang Mai
Enjoy a half day tour visiting the gilded temple buildings of Wat Phra That before admiring the panoramic views from Doi Suthep Hill at 3,300 feet . Finally visit the White Meo hill tribe for an insight into a different lifestyle . This evening why not explore the bustling night bazaar .
DAY 3 Chiang Mai
Transfer this morning to the Elephant Nature Park , a rescue and rehabilitation centre for elephants , as well as many other animals . Spend time observing the animals , which can now live free of fear in natural surroundings . After lunch , leave the camp for the Taeng River Pier where you board a bamboo raft for a gentle trip along the river . Travel onwards by road to visit the Padong long necked hill tribe village then continue to the Orchid and Butterfly Farm before returning to your hotel .
DAY 4 Chiang Mai / Bangkok Transfer to the airport for your return flight to Bangkok .

DAY 1 Bangkok / Chiang Rai
Departure from Bangkok for a 1½ hour flight to Chiang Rai , which is situated within the renowned Golden Triangle area where Myanmar , Laos and Thailand converge . Chiang Rai and the surrounding area is home to magnificent mountain scenery , many natural attractions and several hill tribes who maintain fascinating lifestyles . On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel . The rest of the day is at leisure to perhaps relax by the pool or simply sit back and admire the natural vistas .
DAY 2 Chiang Rai
Travel by minibus via Mae Chan to visit Akha and Yao hill tribe villages , then continue to visit the Padong hill tribe village , ( Long-necked Karen ), who migrated from Southern Burma . Learn how they survive by hunting and farming around the village before visiting the small shops which sell handicrafts .
DAY 3 Chiang Rai
This morning you ’ ll see the highlights of Chiang Rai city from aboard a Samlow ( rickshaw ). Highlights include a visit to the main market area where you ’ ll get a real feel for local life , then visit Wat Pra Kaew and the hilltribes museum . Afterwards , travel onwards by road to end the tour at Wat Rong Khun , famed for its unique “ Kanok ’ architecture . The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax or enjoy some independent exploration .
DAY 4 Chiang Rai / Bangkok Transfer to the airport for your return flight to Bangkok .

DAY 1 Chiang Rai / Mae Hong Son
Transfer by road to Mae Hong Son , a small town which is one of the most enchanting places in the entire North . Nestled in its own lovely valley and surrounded by hills that are often shrouded in early morning mist , Mae Hong Son has stunning landscapes , waterfalls , caves and hill tribe villages .
DAY 2 Mae Hong Son
This morning ’ s excursion begins with a 30 minute long-tailed boat trip along the scenic Pai River to Baan Nam Piang Din , a small Thai-Myanmar border village . Travel onwards to visit the exotic long-necked Karen hill tribe village , where the women wear brass rings around their necks . The tour concludes with the chance to visit elephants in the jungle before you return for an afternoon at leisure to relax or explore independently . This evening , why not visit the lively night market where a number of ethnic tribes set up stalls that include clothing , embroidered bags and jewellery .
DAY 3 Mae Hong Son / Chiang Rai
If time allows , explore further before your return road transfer back to Chiang Rai .
