Nestling on Bali’ s southeastern tip, exclusive Nusa Dua boasts a beautiful beach, high-end resorts, world-class facilities and a delightfully relaxed ambience. The main resort on neighbouring Lombok is laid-back Senggigi, which is set along a series of sweeping bays with light coloured sands below a mountain backdrop. Crescent shaped Medana Bay is equally picturesque with pristine sands and fabulous sunset views.
If barefoot escapism appeals, look no further than Gili Trawangan. Arching away from the northwest of Lombok, this idyllic traffic-free island is fringed by white sand beaches, sparkling turquoise sea, and with amazing underwater scenery, it’ s a popular diving and snorkelling haunt, with sea turtles often cruising the waters close to shore.
Getting there: Flights from the UK to Bali take approx 17 hours via Asian or Middle Eastern hubs. Lombok is 2 hours by ferry from Bali or a 35 minute flight. Gili Trawangan is around 30 minutes by boat from Lombok. Private transfers are included in Bali and Lombok.
Best time to go: Bali and Lombok’ s dry season runs from April- September and wet season October-March, but in true tropical style this is usually a short sharp downpour.
