Malaysia- Langkawi

Langkawi

A stunning island paradise
Anchored 18 miles off mainland Malaysia’ s west coast, this archipelago of 99 islands, of which only five are inhabited, entices with white sand beaches, cerulean seas, verdant rainforests teeming with wildlife, picturesque paddy fields and dense mangroves.
The largest isle, Pulau Langkawi( usually referred to as Langkawi) is peppered with an array of dreamy beaches and palm-swaying shores including popular Cenang, idyllic Burau Bay and exclusive Datai Bay. The scenic interior is also worthy of your attention as small villages, sprawling rubber plantations, jungle-clad mountains and protected parks take centre stage.
Follow a rainforest trail or kayak through the mangroves within Kilim Geoforest Park in the hope of spying the treasure trove of wildlife that includes dusky leaf monkeys, long-tailed macaque, monitor lizards, whitebellied sea eagles, hornbills and more. Dive and snorkelling enthusiasts will find undersea action at Pulau Payar Marine Park, which spreads over two nautical miles and is well regarded for its coral reefs.
Attractions of a man-made nature include the Langkawi SkyCab( cable car) and suspended Sky Bridge for breathtaking views over untouched wilderness, lush valleys, tumbling waterfalls and rugged cliffs. In the tiny capital, Kuah, see the iconic Eagle Square( Dataran Lang), stroll the scenic waterfront and indulge in some duty-free shopping!
