Premier Recommends
Visiting a temple: Known as“ wats,” Thailand’ s legendary temples are not only spiritually important but also offer a glimpse into the country’ s history, art, and religion. One of the most stunning is the beautiful Wat Rong Khun( White Temple) in Chiang Rai with its glistening exterior, intricate carvings and unique sculptures.
Escaping to an island: For the ultimate secluded and tranquil experience, the famous Phi Phi Islands are the very essence of exotic beauty. We also love Koh Yao Noi, Koh Samet and Koh Chang for their relaxed bare-foot vibes and idyllic white-sand beaches.
Shopping & dining like a local: Haggle for bargains and tasty treats in the local markets. At Chatuchak Weekend Market, north of Bangkok, over 15,000 stalls sell furniture, ceramics, plants, trendy clothes, souvenirs and of course lots of delicious street food. The Pad Thai and Mango Sticky Rice both come highly recommended!
Riding a tuk-tuk: Zipping around in a local tuk-tuk is the most iconic way to explore Thailand. Be sure to do this at night for the full neon-lit experience!
Drinking up high: Head to one of the many rooftop bars in Bangkok for a sunset cocktail and the best city views. The famous Skybar at the Top of the Lebua Tower is a favourite Premier hangout!
Getting there: Non-stop flights from the UK to Bangkok take around 11½ hours.
