Part Twelve: Roomates
Jake observed the young man walking in front
of him. Besides the fact that he was a two-meter tall
man who looked like Captain America, nothing really
screamed ‘able fighter.’ His posture was not defensive, and his expression wasn’t rigid. Lucas seemed
like a very strong guy who had no idea how to use his
strength. Jake found that comforting.
Jake stopped next to her.
“I didn’t know you and Patrick had bonded essences.” she said quietly, trying to avoid being
overheard. Speaking in public in singed clothes about

“The shield, dimwit.” She looked at him.
“Oh, yeah, before he died.” He couldn’t read
her expression. “What are you thinking?”
Margo knew why he was asking. Even though
Jake knew she didn’t hold the belief that witches and
demons should never work together, bonding was still
a big deal. It was for life. “I am thinking about the
type of champagne I should buy you. And also, that I
really want that leather jacket.”
Jake snickered.

Margo had dropped the bags off in their respective rooms and put the champagne in the fridge
