The Weight Watchers Plan is designed to help you lose up to 1 kilogram a week (you may lose more in the first couple of weeks). That’s a safe rate of weight loss. If you consistently lose more than that, your Leader will work with you to get it back on track. Plateaus (no gain or loss) and gains can sometimes happen. Over time, if you’re not getting the result you want, talk to your Leader. Why does Weight Watchers recommend 5% and 10% goals? When you first join Weight Watchers, you may have in mind an overall weight you’d like to be. Or you may not be sure how much you should aim to lose. Your ultimate goal may seem far away, so we recommend a smaller step for now: the goal of losing 5% of your starting body weight. That should feel achievable, especially while you’re learning the basics of the Plan. It’s a clear milestone that also delivers health benefits. Of course, you can choose any other personal goal you like. Your Leader or Meeting Team Member will help you calculate your 5% goal and note it on your Weight Record Card. 2 f r e q u e n t ly as k e d q u e st i o n s
