New York School for the Deaf Student Life students enjoy many regularly scheduled activities throughout the year which are an important part of their educational experience. Hour of Code New York School for the Deaf students and staff members participated in the national Hour of Code movement for Computer Science Education Week. This is an annual program dedicated to showing K-12 students the importance of computer science education. The goal was for students and staff members to complete a total of 200 hours of coding throughout the week.  At the end of the week, students showed off their knowledge by competing in maze competitions on stage during a school-wide assembly. Due to the amazing efforts of our students and staff members, Fanwood racked up 249 hours of coding across campus!  The goal is set for next year....300 hours! Student Body Government Student Body Government (SBG) members are the student leaders of New York School for the Deaf.  SBG gives students an opportunity to develop leadership skills and to express their views on issues of concern and importance. With members of each high school class, the SBG represents the interests and concerns of the entire student body. They participate in and organize school activities that contribute to school spirit, service projects, fund raising.  Page 8
