Malakoff has four weeks to re-tool the team for district play and a locker room with 36 lettermen back from a team that closed fast in 2021 . There are some good teams in 8 3A Division 1 , but it ’ s hard to imagine Malakoff checking out before post season .
The name sounds like an Old West hero , but in fact , Ryder Rogers is a 260 pound hub for the offensive and defensive lines . Malakoff scored 473 points last year and Driskell will lean on some experienced hands up front while breaking in a new quarterback .

Unlike college football where polls matter , high school titles are decided on the field . An early 0-3 start didn ’ t kill Malakoff ’ s chanches last year as they posted a 9 win season . Still , Tiger fans would love to see them hang up a win in week two against powerful Grandview .
