Ron Mayes was introduced to me through, Dionne Reeves (see February's Valentine's Day cover). I first noticed his name as the watermark on some of her pictures. I was impressed with his eye for angles and his attention to quality.
Then, I connected to him and found him to be a delightful, sweet man who is as nice behind the camera as his pictures turn out in front of it.
What I've come to enjoy most about his work is that he brings sharpness of color and depth of focus into his work. I love the picture of Dionne for our cover, but I'm equally in love with this picture to the right --------------------->
Not only is he deserving of a spotlighted feature on a small piece of his portfolio, but he is just genuinely a generous and helpful person overall.
I'm almost certain Dionne is his Muse, but I'm as certain that ANY one who he graces with his delicate but deliberate artistic touch...feels like they too, are his Muse. Congrats on being FFK Magazine's Cover, Ron.
