MICHAEL
WATSON
Many years ago a good
friend posted a picture of the
"Cookie Monster" receiving a
gift from his significant other;
it turned out to be a box of
crackers and he was utterly
disappointed. As funny as the
picture was it said something to
me. As men we tend not to be
truthful about who we are and
so gifts come - that we put on a
show of excitement for but we
would really enjoy something
else. I decided therefore to be
open about who I am and what
I like. I am a manly man, who
likes extreme manly things and
the company of friends while
doing these manly things...
Rrrrr!!!
“
With that knowledge my wife
took on the challenge one year
to plan a day of dominoes,
inviting some good old crusty
friends to take over our house
with the loud talking and
playing...at the end of that day
I was thoroughly satisfied with
the "play time." Lo and behold
she wasn't done! She secretly
organized a day of adventure
and fun at Sun Coast with
paintball and zip lining...
man that was fun!!!! It was
even more fun knowing that
this was a special event that
didn't cost us an arm and a leg.
To this day the pictures still
take me back to the thrill of
the games.
I guess the moral of the story
is that while the usual watch
or new tech device would have
been nice, the fun was better
and to me more memorable.
So guys, say what you really
desire...maybe one day you just
might get it J
