With more than sixty miles of off-road cycling across the state , Rhode Island is a bicycle lovers ’ dream . Some paths are hilly and rigorous , others flat and scenic ; there ’ s something for every ability and interest .
BLACKSTONE RIVER BIKEWAY 18.2 MI . The state ’ s second-longest bike path follows the Blackstone River wherever possible , stretching from Woonsocket all the way to India Point Park in Providence where it meets the East Bay Bike Path . The scenic bikeway offers views of old mills , waterfalls , marshes and wildlife as it crosses the river many times . Features both on- and off-road bikeway .

TEN MILE RIVER GREENWAY 3 MI . Despite the name , this three-mile path connects recreational space and athletic fields , including Slater Park , in the northeast corner of the state . It travels down the eastern state border into East Providence .
WARREN BIKE PATH 1 MI . At only one mile , it is the shortest bike path in the state . It stretches from the Hugh Cole Well to Long Road and provides a link between Kickemuit Middle School , Hugh Cole Elementary School and Warren Recreation Park . The path will be extended over the Kickemuit River connecting neighborhoods to downtown Warren .

WASHINGTON SECONDARY BIKE PATH 19 MI . The state ’ s longest bike path stretches from Cranston Street in Cranston to Log Bridge Road in western Coventry . It is best known locally as segments , such as the Trestle Trail , Coventry Greenway , West Warwick Greenway , Warwick Bike Path and Cranston Bike Path . Despite its coverage of the state , it is a mostly flat path with a gradual downhill slope heading from west to east . |

EAST BAY BIKE PATH 14.5 MI . Running along the northern part of East Bay , this multi-town bike path passes many state and local parks and connects neighborhoods , schools and business districts . Great for commuting to school and work as it is mainly flat except for the large hill alongside Veterans Memorial Parkway in East Providence . |

FRED LIPPITT WOONASQUATUCKET RIVER GREENWAY 5 MI . Short yet sweet , this bike path provides a vital link for school and work commuting between Johnston and Providence . The path was built in the early 1990s to spur development of abandoned industrial sites and support underserved neighborhoods in Olneyville . To get into downtown , the path links up to the Providence Riverwalk at the Providence Place Mall . |

QUONSET BIKE PATH 3.7 MI . This path hugs the edge of the Quonset Business Park from Post Road / Route 1 along the back roads to a quiet bayside neighborhood behind Quidnessett Country Club , connecting residents to local businesses . The pathway is entirely off-road . |

SOUTH COUNTY BIKE PATH 7.8 MI . This bike path connects Southern Rhode Island residents from West Kingston to Narragansett . The bikeway has continuously added more paths since 2000 . The path was built with children in mind to make a safer pathway to school . |
