Whatever your interests, there is plenty for you to learn and experience at the Columbus Centre.
Here’s a quick preview of the activities outlined in our Fall & Winter 2019-2020 Program Guide.

Our cultural programming continues to expand and improve. The popular Cultural Tuesdays series
returns with a new roster of presentations and lectures on Italian cinema, Italian influence in fashion,
and the art of science. Also returning is our Diaspora Series, with new presentations and installations
exploring Italian culture, society and influence in American history.

Food is once again a centerpiece of the Columbus Centre calendar. Ristorante Boccaccio will host several Theme Night Dinners featuring the
regional specialties of Lazio/Roma, Sicilia and Piemonte. New this fall, our Culinary Workshops will be hosted off-site at the Cucinato Italian
Culinary Studio, at Lansdowne and St. Clair, where Chef Franco Berti will provide hands-on instruction on making risotto dal nord,
homemade gnocchi and more.
This fall and winter, you’ll also find a mix of new and familiar activities at the Columbus Centre Athletic Club. Try our new Omega Small
Group Training Program, which offers varied, high-intensity functional movements in small groups for people of all fitness levels and athletic
abilities. As always, the Athletic Club will provide a wide choice of popular athletic, aquatic, and health and wellness programs, as well as
personal training services.
At the Columbus Centre itself, you’ll experience a revitalized facility as we renovate to get more out of our existing space and enhance the
facilities hosting our programs and services. The improvements reflect Villa Charities’ commitment to ensuring a sustainable and vibrant
future, and to improving the experience for all patrons, visitors, staff and tenants.
Some departments and services have been relocated as part of the renovations. See the Villa Charities campus map on the next page for all new
department locations.

In parallel with these changes, we’re thrilled to welcome three organizations as long-term Columbus Centre tenants. All of them have a
history with the Italian-Canadian community and offer programs and services that complement our offerings and add value to our campus.
Starting in September, the new tenants will include TLN Media Group’s corporate and multicultural media production headquarters, and the
studios and faculty of the Academy of Realist Art, a private institution that teaches drawing and painting in the old master tradition. A year
later, we will welcome Leonardo Da Vinci Academy, an exceptional independent Montessori-centered school.
