Cincinnati boasts an immense amount of activities for any Latin lover, from breathtaking architecture, plays and museum exhibits, Cincinnati ' s got it all! At the Cincinnati Art Museum, visitors will discover a vast array of Greek pottery, Roman sculptures, and coins that spring to life and take visitors back to ancient Mediterranean days. Although the Pompei exhibit is no longer at the museum center, there is still a treasure trove of artifacts to see, especially if you require some convention project ideas! For a more dramatic flair, the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, lovingly referred to as Cincy Shakes, performs plays that are heavily rooted in classical Roman mythologies and themes, such as Greek tragedy rewrites or Roman histories.
This spring season, they will be performing Shakespeare ' s Othello, which, although not actually adapted from any single roman play, is replete with classical concepts and myths. Latin lovers will also enjoy the architecture that is scattered throughout the city. From the serious Corinthian columns of the Taft Museum of Art to the stunning murals in Over the Rhine, strolling past this beautiful architecture is like taking a living textbook lesson in how classical elements still shape our surroundings. Whether looking at ancient artifacts, watching a show inspired by myth, or admiring classical design in the city ' s monuments, Cincinnati offers numerous great ways to experience the classics— after all, Cincinnati is named after Roman dictator Cincinnatus.
