BUS-ALT SHIELD-E GATOR BOWLING
Age : 8 and Up Min / Max : 6 / 15 Location : Bowlero , Vernon Hills
We designed this program for competitive bowlers . Athletes will focus on techniques to improve their bowling skills for competition . During the first week of the program , athletes will go through a Skills Assessment Test to determine participation in the program for the remainder of the season and gain eligibility for Special Olympics Illinois competitions . Athletes are expected to compete in Special Olympics events and must register for competitions by completing registration forms distributed at the program .
BUS-ALT SHIELD-E GATOR BASKETBALL
Age : 16 and up Min / Max : 7 / 36 Location : Northfield Community Center
Gator Basketball athletes will learn the rules of basketball , develop skills , practice , play weekly games against local teams , and play in competitions . Gator athletics emphasize sportsmanship , fundamentals , and rules of the game . Participants are expected to compete in Special Olympics ( SO ) and Special Recreation Association ( SRA ) events . The first few weeks will consist of practicing and conditioning . After athletes are divided into teams , NSSRA will distribute a weekly schedule and tournament information . ɢ Fees include bowling and shoe rental . ɢ
Participants already registered for NSSRA Bowling are not eligible to sign up for Gator Bowling . ɢ
The Therapeutic Recreation Section Basketball Tournament will take place on February 12 , and the location is TBD . Special Olympics District Basketball Tournament is TBD . ɢ

For those that qualified at the Special Olympics regional bowling tournament in August 2022 , the Special Olympics Sectional Bowling Tournament is TBD .
s Improve competitive skills such as aim , ball stance , and approach .
s Increase bowling average .
