On top of all the great things you can see as you visit Cullman County , there are things you can ’ t see : The infrastructure that is propelling the county into the future .
The Cullman County Water Department is the third largest water service system in Alabama , providing safe drinking water to more than 14,000 customers in Cullman , Morgan , Walker and Winston counties . The water provided meets all regulatory requirements and customers expectations for safety , reliability , and quality . The Duck River Reservoir , a partnership project between the county and city of Cullman , will provide ample drinking water for at least the next 75 years , if not longer . The reservoir is capable of pumping 24 million gallons of water per day .
Cullman receives power through a partnership with the Tennessee Valley Authority . The Cullman Power Board , established in 1951 , supplies power to more than 8,300 business and residential customers within the city limits of Cullman . It manages more than 240 miles of transmission line . The Cullman Electric Cooperative , incorporated in 1936 , serves Cullman , Lawrence , Morgan and Winston counties . It has upwards of 42,000 customers and manages nearly 3,500 miles of transmission line .
