Holly Pond
Holly Pond derives its name from two ponds surrounded by holly trees . It is the home of former Alabama Gov . Guy Hunt - one of three former Alabama governors from Cullman County . The Guy Hunt Library and Museum features history and artifacts of the town ’ s history , as well as that of former Gov . Hunt .
South Vinemont
South Vinemont
Vinemont may be one of Cullman County ’ s smaller towns , but it boasts one of the area ’ s most important facilities . Cullman Regional Airport plays an important role for local industry recruitment and flight enthusiasts . The airport is home to 84-87 aircraft including hobbyists , corporate airplanes , the Wallace State Community College flight school and emergency services helicopters .
The airport sees about 1,100 operations per month . Some of those are industrial prospects coming in to check out the area or existing companies coming to discuss expansions . On the entertainment , vintage military aircraft are a Veterans Day event mainstay while on the recreation side , Skydive Alabama offered something a little most extreme for the outdoor enthusiast .
West Point
Located along Highway 157 in northwest Cullman County , West Point has extensive ball fields where local play softball , baseball and t-ball throughout the summer . The Brandin ’ Iron Steakhouse provides dinners to area veterans every Veterans Day as a thank-you for their service .
