RV and tent camping are available , and the park ’ s location in downtown Cullman means that campers are close to everything that the city has to offer .
For those who visit , Sportsman Lake Park has a small-scale train wrapping around the lake that is always popular with children , along with an 18-hole mini golf course , bike rentals and workout opportunities at fitness equipment throughout the park . The park also offers a splash pad for kids to beat the heat during the hot summer months . plenty of room for anglers and boaters to get out on the water , and the park ’ s fishing pier allows those without a boat a chance to fish for some of the lake ’ s numerous bass , bream and crappie .
For those who want to spend the night , the park has 9 cabins ; 219 full service sites ; 5 water and electric sites ; and 61 tent sites . The park also has eight pavilions , playgrounds , a mini golf course , a swimming pool and a beach area , so whether it ’ s for the day or for a week , visitors will have plenty to do during their stay .
The park is also well known for its fish and duck feeding opportunities , and paddle boats and kayaks are available to rent for anyone who wants to see the fish up close .
