Dear friends and neighbors ,
Back to school is a great time to head back to the Glenview Park District to learn something new , no matter your age ! The Park District offers plenty of opportunities this fall for all ages to get out , have fun , and engage with nature and our community ! Learning something new helps the brain function more effectively and improves focus , overall confidence , and self-esteem . It ’ s also a great way to meet new people and expand social and professional networks .

The Park District is ramping up for a busy sports season with programs and leagues for both kids and adults . Playing sports helps develop and maintain life-long , healthy exercise habits while improving coordination , balance and agility . We hope you join one of our leagues or participate in some of our sports programs !
There are also many uniquely back-to-school and fall-themed special events to look forward to .
F , 8 / 23 – Start the school year off with a free skating party at the Glenview Community Ice Center ’ s Stay Cool @ Back to School . Enjoy a public skating session , hockey , figure and speed skating lessons for beginners , free ice cream and so much more . All activities are free ; registration is highly recommended !
Su , 8 / 25 – Now in its second year , the Glenview Sportswap , cosponsored by Greener Glenview , is THE event to score gently used sports equipment while giving it new life and helping to keep it out of our landfills . To participate , drop off your equipment on August 23 or August 24 at the Park Center West Gym and receive a voucher to purchase items on August 25 . Don ’ t have anything to donate ? Stop by to shop on August 25 . You can pay with vouchers or cash .
Sa , 9 / 7 – Historic Wagner Farm ’ s Tomato Fest is the most delicious way to celebrate this sun-kissed late summer garden treat . Taste different varieties , dine on delicious tomato-based recipes , play games and more . Entry is free , and tickets for activities and food will be available onsite .
