In light of the May 2024 acquisition of Merriwether & Williams Insurance Services ( MWIS ) by HUB International ( HUB ), Contractor Report sat down with MWIS founder and former CEO , Ingrid Merriwether ( now HUB ’ s President of Aligned Risk Management ), and HUB ’ s President & CEO for Central & Northern California and President of Commercial Insurance , Darren Caesar .

Contractor Report ( CR ): To start out , Darren , can you share what drew you to working with HUB ?

Darren Caesar ( Darren ): Sure . The genesis of HUB is made up of independent agencies across the United States . A local independent insurance brokerage is something that I grew up in – my father developed the business – and what I was taught and what I learned is that this is a major pillar of the community .
