Meet Chris Hall : New LAP Program Executive Director
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as the executive director of the Lawyer Assistance Program ( LAP ). The North Dakota LAP was established in 2004 pursuant to North Dakota Supreme Court Administrative Rule 49 . The program is designed to help judges and attorneys who are having issues with alcohol or drug abuse , stress , mental health , or practice management . It provides mentors , referrals , and ongoing support services to participants . Participation in the program , including communications between participants , committee members and mentor volunteers , is confidential and may not be disclosed without the consent of the affected party .
My name is Chris Hall , and I am so excited to use my skills in my new role . I have more than 35 years of work experience as a social worker , primarily with children and families . I have done child protection , foster care , domestic violence therapy , mental health assessment and triage , hospital case management , and school social work . I have taught parenting classes and am a trainer for trauma informed care .
On a personal level , I am a wife , mom to three , and grandmother to three . I was a hockey mom for more than 20 years and survived ! I am
also happiest when outdoors in my garden or camping , and I love to travel ( especially in the winter to somewhere warm ). I love good coffee and conversations with friends .
I am a great listener and love to root for the underdog because we all are one at times . I also believe everyone deserves to be treated with respect , and everyone needs help sometimes .
