As our district ' s 2021 Safe Boating Programs wind down , I am taking this opportunity to thank you - appointed Staff Officers for Vessel Examinations , Program Partner Visitation and Public Education for all you have done during this very challenging year for Auxiliary public interaction missions . You , and many of our safe boating program members , acted with determination to safely get the job done regardless of the particular setbacks we faced this year : COVID mitigations and multi-problem transition to AUXDATA II . You have demonstrated that the Auxiliary is resilient and adaptable to changing dynamics .
A cornerstone since 1947 , the Auxiliary ’ s safe boating programs have continually evolved to serve as local area emissaries for the U . S . Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Auxiliary in a recreational boating safety public outreach program .
Shipmates , you have my commitment that I will strive to work with you and lead in a way worthy of our mission , your respect , and the sacrifices that so many of you have made and continue to make to serve the Coast Guard and keep us worthy of the public trust .
