In addition , YLS will be hosting webinars featuring various legal topics pertinent to young lawyers . All are encouraged to participate in these educational opportunities to earn continuing legal education credits .

BRANDT DOERR
Brandt Doerr is an attorney at Fremstad Law Firm in Fargo . He is licensed to practice law in North Dakota state and federal courts and in Minnesota state courts and is a member of the
Cass County Bar Association . At Fremstad Law Firm , Doerr ’ s practice consists of general civil litigation , which includes work in collections , contract disputes , landlord / tenant law , real estate disputes , and construction litigation .
Growing up in the Minot area , he attended elementary and high school at a rural school , Des Lacs-Burlington . Doerr graduated from Minot State University with a bachelor of arts in history and concentrations in economics , geography , and Native American studies . He then attended the University of North Dakota ( UND ) School of Law , where he obtained his juris doctor .
While in law school , Doerr participated in internal moot court competitions and with UND Law ’ s external trial team . For his excellence in oral advocacy during law school , he was inducted into the Order of the Barristers . Doerr was also selected for the Order of the Coif for his academic performance during law school . Before moving into private practice , he was a term clerk at the North Dakota Supreme Court .
Doerr resides in Fargo with his wife and son . Outside of the practice of law , he enjoys spending time with his family and friends , playing various musical instruments with varying levels of success , being outside riding his bicycle and his extensive collection of skateboards , and attending his son ’ s hockey practices and games .
KENDRA RICHARD
Kendra Richard is an associate attorney with Furuseth Olson & Evert , PC in Williston . She also serves as an assistant city attorney for the City of Stanley and municipal judge for the City of Tioga . Richard practices municipal law , criminal prosecution , estates , and civil litigation .
Richard was born and raised in Stanley . After high school , she attended the University of Mary in Bismarck . She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science in social work , with minors in psychology and addiction counseling .
In 2016 , Richard graduated cum laude from the University of North Dakota School of Law . Richard was involved in various student groups , including the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society . She externed at both Legal Services of North Dakota and for Furuseth Olson & Evert , PC . Following her graduation , Richard became a member of the Order of the Coif .
In her free time , she enjoys cycling , reading , and spending time with friends and family . Richard married in August and her husband , Dustin , is also an attorney at Furuseth Olson & Evert .
