ADVANCES TO STATE ART SHOW
Eleven Saint James School students were awarded district honors in
the Visual Arts Achievement Program (VAAP) competition sponsored
by the Alabama State Council on the Arts. District winners from Saint
James included high school students: Eric Lee, Sarah Rice, Aatika
Albimani, Trinity Goff, and Isabelle Goulet. Middle school winners
include: Emilee Alexander, Wendy Stombaugh, Junseo Oh, Sarah Park,
Zane Harris, and Evi Willemen. In addition to Emilee Alexander’s 3D/
Crafts entry, the works that earned first place by Eric Lee and Sarah Rice
will advance to the state competition for a second round of judging.

2020 GRADUATION
The evening of Friday, May 15 marked the
commencement of the Eastwood Christian
School Class of 2020. The outdoor ceremony
took place under strings of lights as excited
graduates received their diplomas and
delighted parents and grandparents looked on:
some in lawn chairs, others in cars.
CHURCHILL CELEBRATED SENIORS
WITH A GRADUATION PARADE
Churchill Academy honored the Class of 2020 with the River Region’s
first-ever Graduation Parade on Tuesday, May 19. Cars were decorated
in advance of the event and lined up at Grace Pointe Church to make
their way to the class of six graduates at Thorington Road Baptist
Church (TRBC) on Ray Thorington Road. Led by the Pike Road Fire
Department and directed by the Montgomery Police Department, the
parade circled through the TRBC parking lot honking and cheering for
graduates, and honoring their journeys.
PCA’S ENGINEERING
ACADEMY HONORED WITH
PLTW DISTINCTION
Prattville Christian Academy’s Engineering
Academy was the only PLTW-certified
program in Alabama, in a private school
setting. PCA was one of 11 schools recognized
in Alabama and the state’s only Distinguished
High School honoree for this year.
