Decals and Fees Rosewood Beach 883 Sheridan Road 847.433.3170 Rosewood Beach is located along the shores of Lake Michigan. The beach features three protected coves, including a passive beach area used for ecological/nature programs, a guarded swimming beach (during the summer), and a recreation beach. Nestled against Rosewood’s wooded bluffs is the one-of-a-kind Rosewood Beach Interpretive Center, which celebrates our great Lake Michigan and its shoreline. The beach areas and buildings are connected by a boardwalk that runs the length of Rosewood Beach. Beach Hours: Dawn to Dusk Guarded Swimming Hours: Daily 10 am – 6 pm Lap Swimming: 7 am-10 am in the swimming cove only. Water access during these times is for lap swimming only. Recreational Water Access and Swimming: 10 am – 6 pm Certified lifeguards supervise the beach during the public swimming hours, regardless of weather conditions. A sign is posted that indicates when lifeguards are not on duty. Inclement Weather Policy Rosewood Beach operating hours are subject to prevailing weather conditions, including electrical storms, wave conditions, and heavy rains. If lightning and/or thunder is seen/ heard, the water and beach will be cleared and not re-open until 30 minutes pass without lightning and/or thunder. If inclement weather continues for a period longer than three hours, the beach may be closed for the remainder of the day. Safety Regulations • Climbing on rocks is prohibited • Flotation devices are prohibited in the water • Glass containers are prohibited • Swim only during public swimming hours and in designated areas • Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult • Diving from the shoreline or rocks is prohibited • Please dispose of all litter in the receptacles provided • No dogs allowed on beach or boardwalk 2018 Small Projects Design Award Group and Custom Nature Programs Choose a custom designed environmental education or outdoor recreation program to meet your needs or an established program such as geology, geocaching or animal survival. Rosewood Beach Interpretive Center The one-of-a-kind Rosewood Beach Interpretive Center celebrates our great Lake Michigan and its shoreline. The center hosts a variety of ecological and nature programs for day camps, local schools, and the general public. Casual visitors can also enjoy interpretive signage throughout the site illustrating Rosewood’s restoration efforts in progress and the fascinating lakefront ecological system.
