informative hands-on workshop, discussion or walk.
Programs are sponsored by Radford Green and are presented in
cooperation with the Highland Park and Lake Forest/Lake Bluff

Family Archery | Ages 8-Adult
A perfect family activity! Learn the basics of archery, then spend
the time practicing on the range! All equipment and instruction
provided. Children must be accompanied by a paid registered
adult.

Enjoy story time with a naturalist, then take a short hike and

Explore a different park each time while taking an interactive hike
with a naturalist that ends around a cozy campfire with s’mores!

Pollinator Walk and Talk | Ages 6-Adult
Buzz and flutter, we have so many pollinators at Heller Nature
Center. Walk with us as we identify butterfly’s, native insects,
and honey bees. Get a fascinating look through glass, inside
Heller’s observation beehive. Children must be accompanied
by a paid registered adult.

Zoethica | Ages 10 - Adult
Join physicist/artist Peter Krsko as he studies nature through
creative and playful art making. Many structures in nature
are strong and stable as consequence of a rigid structure
being inside a flexible outer membrane. Creation of a threedimensional
and structurally strong form will be achieved with
wooden sticks and stretch wrap for each participant to take
home.

Seek and Find Wildlife at Heller | All Ages
Become an expert at plant and animal identification with Seek
an app by I-Naturalist. We will teach you how to use this new
tool that instantly identifies the world around us. We’ll explore
outdoors seeking out new wildlife and snapping pictures. The
hidden world of plants and animals will be exposed so you can
seek again and again.

Join us as we tinker with recycled or natural materials to create
