SB BASKETBALL LOOKS

TO BOUNCE BACK

A SEASON REVIEW OF BASKETBALL

The Saddle Brook High School boys’ basketball team, led by head coach Rob Bernier, wrapped up the 2024 season with a 7-17 overall record, including a 2-8 mark in the NJIC American Division. While the season presented its share of challenges, the Falcons showcased resilience, growth, and determination—qualities that set the foundation for an improved campaign next year.

One of the season’s highlights came on Senior Night, when Saddle Brook avenged an early-season loss to Lodi with a hard-fought victory. The win not only served as a testament to the team’s progress but also provided a fitting sendoff for the Falcons’ lone senior, Gavin Accomando. As the sole senior on the roster, Accomando played a pivotal leadership role, guiding his younger teammates and setting an example both on and off the court.

Despite the ups and downs, the Falcons remained competitive throughout the season, gaining valuable experience that will serve them well in the future. With the majority of starters set to return next year, Coach Bernier and his squad are poised to take a step forward in the NJIC American Division. The team’s young core, now battle-tested, will enter next season with added confidence, chemistry, and motivation to improve upon this year’s results.

As the Falcons turn the page to the offseason, they will focus on skill development, conditioning, and building on the lessons learned from this season. With a strong returning cast and the experience gained from a challenging schedule, Saddle Brook is well-positioned for a more successful 2025 campaign.

For now, the Falcons can take pride in their perseverance and the growth they displayed throughout the year. With a determined group returning, the future looks bright for Saddle Brook boys’ basketball.
