WINTER TRACK

By Nicole Brown

During this winter track season, our resilient athletes have braved the cold weather, dedicating themselves to rigorous training sessions aimed at enhancing their speed and endurance. Amidst the chill, they've demonstrated unwavering commitment to improvement, each athlete pushing their limits and striving for personal excellence. Winter track is a test of both physical prowess and mental fortitude, offering a platform to set ambitious goals and witness growth throughout the season.

Throughout the season, our Saddle Brook track team has showcased remarkable talent across various events, from running to throwing and jumping. Under the guidance of Coach Ciccone and Coach Gulati, our athletes have honed their skills and achieved numerous personal records, highlighting the immense effort and dedication invested in their training. Notable achievements include Luke Faber's impressive third-place finish in the Group 1 state sectionals and Greg Ramirez's commendable fourth-place performance in the same event. Moreover, the participation of Briana Reyes, Debrah Wang, Olivia Poplawski, and Helin Kayar in the 3200-meter relay further underscores the depth of talent within our team.

Additionally, our team excelled at the Varsity Classic, marking one of our best meets of the season. Congratulations to the boys and girls track teams for their outstanding performances. The underclassmen made a significant impact, achieving personal best times in nearly every race. Notable performances include Jona Larti, Liyana Nikocaj, and Joanna Bak, who raced to season’s best performances in the 200-meter dash, along with Gracie Ciappina's new personal best of 1:15 in the 400-meter dash.
