As the curtains closed in 2023, The Saddle Brook High School Choir and Band under the masterful direction of Band Director Frank Ortega and Choir Director Malcolm Couden have once again delivered an outstanding performance. The Winter Concert featured immensely impressive performances by the Brass Ensemble, High School band and choir, as well as the Saddle Brook’s select choir, The Choraleers.
The Choraleers began the event with a rousing rendition of “Infant Holy, Infant Loly” . The Choraleers are Saddle Brook’s select ensemble that represents some of the best members of it’s Concert Choir. Despite being made of predominantly newer members this year, each one is heavily talented and committed towards excelling in their craft and delivering a performance to be remembered.
The first half featured a performance from the band who played a wide variety of songs. From exciting pieces like “Ornaments”, to jazzy tunes such as “Oh Christmas Tree”, or to the ever classic “Sleigh Ride”. The concert had a little something for everyone of various musical tastes to enjoy. The second half featured the Choir who also sang a variety of pieces ranging from the smooth grooves of “This Christmas” to the grandiose, bombastic sound of “And the Glory of the Lord”.
