They also want to kill Jake for now becoming a Na’vi. This makes Jake and Neytiri question whether they should stay with their tribe, or leave in order to protect their people. Ultimately, they decide to leave and go and live with the water people, a new addition to the story of Pandora. These water people live on the water 24/7 which is not normal for Jake and his family. Throughout the movie, Colonel Quaritch is trying to kill Jake so the sky people can take over Pandora and after several small battles and back and forth arguments between them, the final battle takes place at the end of the movie.

Personally, my favorite thing about the movie was the beautiful scenery and amazingly realistic CGI, it felt as if I was really there and not just watching a screen. I also loved the way the writers made women look in the film. The women displayed are very powerful and strong which is very refreshing to see. I really loved seeing how Spider, a character in the movie, lives with the Na’vi, considering he is actually a human and not a Na’vi or a cross breed. I thought it added another aspect of interest into the film for audiences.

Additionally, I loved seeing the relationship between Jake, Neytriri, and their kids. I liked how I was able to see Jake and Neytiri fight to save their kids but also while the kids were fighting for their parents, and how they all worked together in the end to save themselves and the water people. My one critique would be that the scenes in-between the fighting and drama could be slightly boring and slow moving at times. But, that’s something you have to expect when the movie is over three hours long!

For all Avatar fans, you know that this movie has been a longtime coming since the original came out in 2009. Production for Avatar: The Way of Water began in April of 2017 and now, thirteen years later, it has only been released now! But, I think most fans will agree that it was well worth the wait. This will probably come as a surprise to most, but, the cast and crew of Avatar actually filmed the second and third movies at the same time! So, hopefully this means we won’t have to wait 13 years for the next movie!
