CHEER!
Overview:
The Saddle Brook High School Competition Cheer team has been incredibly successful throughout the years, and this year is no different. The twelve girl team started their season back in the summer of 2022 and have been working hard ever since. They had their first official performance at the winter pep rally and their first competition on January 7th at Montville High School. At the competition, they won their division and won grand champions which is the highest score of the competition!
The Routine:
Their two minute and thirty second long routine is jam packed with different skills that fall under the following categories. Stunts, jumps, and tumbling. One of their stunts is a high to high, their jumps include toe touches, pikes, and hurdler jumps, and their tumbling skills vary from back handsprings, to ariels, layouts, tucks, and more. All of which are especially difficult. Some star tumblers on the team include, Melania Ruiz, Stella Cahill-Slowik, and Alyssa Balbuena, all who display extreme levels of difficulty in their tumbling. Their routine also requires performance from all the girls. Specifically, from Rylie Gambassi, Melania Ruiz, and Bella Cappello who are the flyers on the team.
