BOYS Co-Op
BASEBALL
What is a Co-Op?
A co-op team allows two different school’s sporting programs to come together into one team. This gives students athletic opportunities that might not otherwise exist at their school. Forming a co-op has allowed administration not to stress about having enough athletes from season-to-season.
How does it work?
A co-op consists of ‘combining’ both Saddle Brook and Bogota’s baseball teams. Everything from resources, uniforms, and equipment will now be shared between the two teams. Starting on April 7st, practices will switch between Saddle Brook and Bogota’s baseball fields. Games will switch between the schools,
and players will wear the uniform of the school that hosts the game. Transportation to the designated field hosting either practice or games will be provided.
Covid Regulations
Baseball covid guidelines were provided by the NJSIAA last month describing the necessary precautions. Some highlighted factors include
umpires wearing face masks and adhering to limiting the number of people touching the ball inbetween innings or the stopping of the game. Dugouts are limited to essential personal, and any player/coach in the dugout is required to wear a mask at all times. Players, coaches, and umpires are encouraged to practice social distancing whenever possible. Post game handshakes or celebrations are prohibited.
Saddle Brook High School and Bogota High School have teamed together to field a baseball squad with players from both schools this spring.
