We experienced a partial solar eclipse on April 8th, 2024. What is a solar eclipse? Well, a solar eclipse is when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, which blocks some light from the Sun from reaching the Earth. Now, this distinction can occur in either a full or partial eclipse. In layman's terms, a full eclipse is when sunlight is fully blocked by the Moon, and a partial eclipse is when sunlight is partially blocked by the Moon. The eclipse that we experienced here is Saddle Brook was a partial eclipse, with 91.7% of the Sun being blocked. The solar eclipse passed through the United States starting in Texas and ending in Maine, with totality only lasting a maximum of 4 minutes and 28 seconds. The next solar eclipse in the U.S. will not occur until 2044!

Below is an image of the path of the solar eclipse.
