GIRLS LACROSSE

By: Sarah Miller, '21

The Saddle Brook Girl's Lacrosse team played hard and showed much improvement this season. Although ending the season with only four wins, they fought hard on the field and worked together as a team, tributing their season to their fallen teammate Brooke Costanzo. The graduating seniors, Mia Larsen, Alexis VanBenschoten, Kassandra Faber, Anjelica Parisi, Crystal Cannici, Kayla Chowdhury, Krista Soto and Sara Griner were a big part to the team, making up most of the defense and offense. Senior Alexis VanBenschoten reached 100 goals this year, making her the first lacrosse player in Saddle Brook High School history to accomplish this feat. Senior Mia Larsen will be continuing her lacrosse career at Hood College. One of the team’s most hard fought wins against Paramus Catholic gave them a 9-8 win on senior day. Another amazing win for the girl's lacrosse team was against West Orange who was defeated 16-5. The seniors on the team have been great role models for the underclassmen and this will definitely show on the field next season.
