SUCCESS DEFINES SEASON
By the Falcon Flyer Editorial Staff
FOOTBALL
The Saddle Brook Falcons football team, led by captains Dylan Cerciello and Nick Vitiello, completed the 2025–2026 season with a record of 3–7 overall. While the season began with challenges, the Falcons showed resilience and determination, closing out the year with three consecutive victories that energized the program and highlighted the team’s growth.
The early weeks of the season tested Saddle Brook’s resolve. The Falcons dropped their first seven games, including close contests against Secaucus (22–13), New Milford (14–13), and Hawthorne (24–20). Despite the narrow losses, the team continued to battle, refusing to let setbacks define them. Their persistence paid off in mid-October when they secured a thrilling 26–25 victory over Wallington. That win marked a turning point, sparking momentum that carried into a dominant 49–0 shutout of North Arlington and a convincing 40–7 triumph over Tenafly to close the season. The late surge demonstrated the Falcons’ ability to grow stronger as the year progressed.
One of the season’s standout moments came in Week 8, when senior Dylan Cerciello (RB/DB) was named Conference Player of the Week. Cerciello piloted Saddle Brook’s offense in the 49–0 win over North Arlington, rushing for 201 yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries. He also added two receptions for 15 yards, a two-point conversion, and six tackles (four solo) on defense. It was his second consecutive week surpassing the 200-yard rushing mark, this time doubling his touchdown total. His performance exemplified the leadership and impact he brought to both sides of the ball.
