Overall Season/Record
The Saddle Brook Girls Soccer team officially began their season on August 16, after training in the pre-season since late June. They quickly started their scrimmages in late August, following their first game against Immaculate Conception on September 10.
They finished their season with an overall record of 9-5-1 and their league record of 6-3-1 in the NJIC Meadowlands Division. The Lady Falcons secured a position in the County Tournament and gathered 159.5 power points going into the North Jersey State Tournament.
Tournaments
The Lady Falcons entered the Bergen County Tournament as the 32nd seed to play against Rutherford, the 17th seed, in the first round on September 29. Although they were defeated in a competitive match, even making the tournament was a success. Later in the season, the team competed in the NJSIAA Section 1, Group 1 Tournament as the 11th seed. They traveled to Kittatinny Regional High School in Newton, where the 6th ranked team ended their season.
Super Stats
The Lady Falcon's ended their season with 31 goals, with the leading scorers being Izzy Sara with 13, Megan Holdsworth with 7, and Brianna DeBari with 4. The team had 25 assists, Izzy Sara leading with 10, and Frankie Accetta, Adrianna Barnett, Gigi Gargurevich, Megan Holdsworth, and Mariah Torres averaged two assists. Our goalkeepers ended the year with 29 saves from Alexa Szecsi and 64 from Yanci Zea.
