The Saddle Brook Girls Tennis team has had another successful season that showed growth. Throughout the numerous wins the team earned during the season, the Girls Tennis Team has continued to build their skills and communication. The varsity lineup consisted of Emma Lee, Stephanie McNamara, Eva Shah, Alishba Khan, Amira Souda, Olivia Laszcz, Kaitlyn Mendez, and several substitute players . In the end, the team went 4-12 overall and 3-11 in NJIC Meadowlands Division.
The team’s captain, Emma Lee, has worked closely with the head coach, Coach Militello, and Coach Rippas to ensure a successful season. From summer practices to encouraging the team, they helped the freshmen tennis players learn the fundamentals of the sport as well as made the rest of the team stronger players. The combination of the skills and team spirit throughout the season helped lead the team to their success.
As they look forward to their next season, the Girls Tennis Team continues to practice during their off-season and build their relationships with one another, helping the new players develop an understanding of the sport as well as the discipline needed to be a victorious team. Although the tennis team had no seniors for the 2021 season, they persevered and won more games than their previous season. With the experience of the 2021 season, the Girls Tennis Team looks forward to their next season.
