CURIOSITY ROVER HARD AT WORK ON MARS

By Maawhish Mohamed

Have you ever wanted to explore Mars and see what's out there? Well, that's why NASA created the Mars Curiosity Rover! The Mars Curiosity Rover is an automated motor vehicle that moves itself on Mars to explore the red planet. This rover was launched on July 28th, 2012 in a shuttle and landed on Mars on August 5th, 2012. The purpose of this rover is to find out what similarities and differences Earth has between Mars. Recently, the rover had found a flower which is still mysterious because the scientists are unsure if it's a real flower or not. This mysterious flower came out of a rock that is now named after John Klein, a curiosity project manager that died in 2011. "We're thrilled, and we can't wait to get drilling," said project scientist John Grotzinger. Over the next couple weeks, the rover started drilling in the John Klein rock to find out other things in the rock. After drilling, scientists discovered that these rocks were once exposed to water. NASA is planning to launch a new rover in the year 2020.
