BULLYING IN SCHOOLS

Continued from Page 1

stop it. Even with this help the groups are worried because they still see bullying. For example the U.K has 1 in 13 kids bullied online and that is a lot. But on October 19th 2012 people stood up because another girl was about to commit suicide by doing everything Amanda did though luckily her classmates stepped in or it would be a Amanda story all over again. This had happened in London, Ontario 8 girls have been charged for the bulling but, some people think it is an overreaction to being a little mean over the internet. It is better to be safe than sorry said the "National News Cast''. They asked some viewers what would they do? and one of the viewers group stated they would help by starting a facebook campaign against cyber bullying. Some schools have bullies who bully others for no reason. The victim is so fearful that he/she would choose to commit suicide rather than facing the bully. So if people bully at Fletcher's Creek the person who is bullied might think of doing worse to themselves. The bully might feel guilty of helping someone die. So think before you act don't let people bully don't be a bystander speak up and don't be a

bully.

RED BULL STRATOS

By Maahwish Mohammed

It’s a bird. It’s a plane. No, it’s the amazing Red Bull Jump! On Sunday, October 14th, 2012, Felix Baumgartner jumped from the edge of space and did a spectacular free-fall. Red Bull has had many extreme athletes, but this jump was the biggest risk Red Bull has ever taken. Felix sat in a rocket-powered airplane which was tied to a helium-filled balloon at the time of take off.The take off was in Roswell, New Mexico at 11:15 am EST. Felix went 23 miles into space and then made an amazing free-fall. The landing was great and Felix achieved his dream of being the first free-falling human to break the sound barrier (breaking the sound barrier is to travel faster than the speed of sound). In fact, Felix broke 3 records: highest manned balloon flight, free-fall from highest altitude, and supersonic speed in free-fall. “ Sometimes we have to get really high to see how small we are”, said Felix.
