The Catholic University of America Press has published Aquinas and the Theology of the Body: The Thomistic Foundations of John Paul II’s Anthropology, by Fr. Thomas Petri, O.P. (STL ’06, Vice President and Academic Dean.) This book is Volume 7 in the Thomistic Ressourcement series. Dawn Eden Goldstein (MA ’10, STB ’13, STL ’14) became the first woman to receive a doctorate of sacred theology from the University of St. Mary of the Lake, Mundelein, Illinois. The story was covered in a front-page article on the Chicago Tribune. Fr. Gary Selin (MA ’99) recently had his first book, Priestly Celibacy: Theological Foundations, published by The Catholic University of America Press. Two Dominicans from the Province of St. Joseph were among the speakers at a colloquium sponsored by the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome to celebrate the 8th centenary of the Order of Preachers and the 50th anniversary of the constitution Dei verbum: Fr. Thomas Joseph White (faculty, STL ’08) spoke on “Revelation in an ecumenical and interreligious context,” and Fr. Nicholas Lombardo, O.P. (MDiv ’03, STL ’05), spoke on “The Text of Sacred Scripture and the Intention of the Divine Author.” Dom Alban Baker, C.R.N.J. (MDiv ’12, STL ’16), wrote on “The Remarkable Influence of the Maternal Heart” for Seton Magazine, a publication for Catholic homeschoolers. Fr. John Vidmar, O.P. (STB ’78; STL ’80), lectured at the Mission of Faith Lecture Series at the Knights of Columbus Museum on the topic, “The Dominicans Come to the United States – but from England?” The Incarnate Lord: A Thomistic Study in Christology, by Fr. Thomas Joseph White, O.P., was awarded best theology book of 2015 by the Catholic Press Association.
