ALUMNI & F A C U LT Y Fr. Benedict Viviano, O.P. (STL ‘67), was named a Senior Fellow to the faculty of the Aquinas Institute of Theology. Fr. Allen Alexander, M.I.C. (MDiv, STB ‘15), was ordained to the priesthood on July 25 at his life-long parish, St. Michael the Archangel in Muskegon, Michigan. He is now Lead Campus Minister at St. Catherine’s High School in Racine. Fr. John McCusker, O.S.B. (MDiv, STB ‘15), was ordained to the priesthood on September 12 at the Abbey of Saint Mary and Saint Louis in Missouri. Fr. Alban Baker, C.R.N.J. (MDiv ’12, current STL student) was ordained to the priesthood on October 17 at St. James the Greater in Charles Town, West Virginia. Pauline Books & Media released the latest book by Rev. Msgr. J. Brian Bransfield (adjunct faculty). In Life Everlasting: The Mystery and the Promise, Msgr. Bransfield deals with issues of death and grief in light of the death and resurrection of Jesus. A September conference in Oxford on “The Influences of the Dominican Order in the Middle Ages” included presentations by Fr. Timothy Bellamah, O.P. (MDiv ’98, STL ’99, faculty), Fr. Dominic Legge, O.P. (MDiv, STB ’07; STL ’08; faculty), Fr. Ezra Sullivan, O.P. (MDiv, STB ’09), and Fr. Innocent Smith, O.P. (MDiv, STB ’13; STL ’15). Theology professor Fr. Thomas Joseph White, O.P. (STL ’08, faculty), spoke at a breakout session of the World Meeting of Families on “Flesh and Blood: Covenantal Love and the Meaning of the Incarnation.” Dawn Eden (MA ‘10, STB ‘13, STL ’14) wrote an article for L’Osservatore Romano, republished in First Things, on her experience as a woman studying at the PFIC, “in a prayerful environment alongside others who, like me, saw theology not merely as a career but also as a vocation.” After successfully defending her thesis in August, Sr. Lucia Marie Siemering, O.P., became the first graduate of the PFIC’s new M.A. in Thomistic Studies program. She is currently living at the Villaggio Betania, the Nashville Dominicans’ convent in Bracciano, Italy and working at the Vatican Secretariat of State.
