Faith On The Line - Stress, Stress Go Away Vol 18 | Page 26
Battle to Believe continued from page 11
How did this mindset affect Paul’s
experience? Notice the sound of victory
in his testimony just prior to his death
found in 2 Timothy 1:12:
For the which cause I also suffer these
things: nevertheless I am not ashamed:
for I know Whom I have believed, and
am persuaded that He is able to keep
that which I have committed unto Him
against that day (emphasis added).
Christ’s Plan: That we know Him
O Lord, give us a heart for knowing
You like the one You gave the apostle
Paul! Knowing God is Christ’s new
covenant plan for His true followers
(Romans 2:28-29):
For this is the covenant that I will
make with the house of Israel after
those days, saith the Lord; I will put
My laws into their mind, and write
them in their hearts: and I will be to
them a God, and they shall be to Me
a people: And they shall not teach
every man his neighbour, and every
man his brother, saying, Know the Lord:
for all shall know Me, from the least
to the greatest (Hebrews 8:10-11,
emphasis added).
The Pen of Inspiration also emphasizes the importance of knowing God:
Only by knowing God here can we
prepare to meet Him at His
coming (Maranatha, 76).
In order to have true,
abiding faith in Christ, we
must know Him as He is
represented in the word…
And faith must be kept in
constant exercise through
the diligent, persevering study of the word.
The word thus becomes a living agency;
and we are sanctified through the
truth (Fundamentals of Christian
Education, 433).
Christians should be preparing for
what is soon to break upon the world
as an overwhelming surprise, and this
preparation they should make by diligently
studying the word of God, and striving to
conform their lives to its precepts (Prophets
and Kings, 626).
Dear Reader, as you by faith fight to know God and His
Son Jesus Christ, you will find your faith in God’s promises
increasing in strength (Romans 10:17). [
